I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
What a wonderful story! “THE TROUBLE WITH GOODBYE”, is an easy read...but It has a very troubled subject. The author did a good job of letting the reader know that something bad happened to main character, Leigh Anne, without actually telling us details for a while. As the story progressed, hints were dropped and more secrets were revealed. I liked the way the author did this. Although there was a dark subject, the author did it in a very reader friendly way.
I found that this book hit very close to home for me, and I appreciated the way Sarra Cannon told Leigh Anne’s story. Sexual assault is a very real issue, and although this book is a work of fiction, its also too many girl's realities. I know first hand how many women are afraid to speak out, whether from their own fear, or due to pressure from friends and family. Tip to friends out there...regardless if you plan on coming forward and/or pressing charges...get a rape kit. At least protect yourself by taking care of any physical damage. And get counseling/support groups to help with the mental and emotional damage.
Besides this tough issue, I loved the romance in this novel. Knox and Leigh Anne are perfect for each other. As nice as Preston seemed, he wasn’t for Leigh Anne...Knox was. And I just got to make it clear that I LOVE Knox’s name. Knox Rocks (you like that little rhyme, huh?! lol).
Oh yeah! And before I forget, I love this cover! It's beautiful and I love the colors. It's just great!
I would absolutely recommend this New Adult Contemporary Romance novel to fans of the genre. If you enjoy a sweet romance involved in a heavy storyline, then you should definitely check out “The Trouble With Goodbye” by Sarra Cannon. I will be looking forward to this author’s future work!
