5 STAR REVIEW: "Ten Tiny Breaths" - K.A. Tucker

Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1)

Series: "Ten Tiny Breaths" Book 1
Length: Paperback262 pages
Published: December 11th 2012
Published by: Papoti Books
ISBN13: 9780991686001

Book Description
via Goodreads:

Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.

Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.

But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgiveable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness

My Review:

"Ten Tiny Breaths" by K.A. Tucker

I received this book originally from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! What a story! This is a book that tears you down, builds you back up and gives you hope, and tears you down again. I loved it! I love the roller coaster ride that K.A. Tucker brought us on with her words. I absolutely loved Kasey! She is such a badass girl and it was awesome! I loved watching her grow throughout this novel and I found myself proud of her. But when she got crushed, so did I. I broke down with her.

The surprises throughout this story were insane and unbelievable. They physically caused my jaw to drop at certain points, while yelling out at others. I love a story that has so much emotion in the words that my eyes get filled with tears. And I'm really not a cryer. So when this happens in books...I know it's good!

I think K.A. Tucker is an amazing writer who can make her readers feel with every word on the page. She created characters so real, they almost seemed like a memory of someone I once knew. I love reading a book with characters that are so human, so real, that I want to know them in real life. She is a writer I will follow, and I am anxiously awaiting book two, "One Tiny Lie"- I cannot wait to read more about Kasey's sister, Livie.

"Ten Tiny Breaths" is a novel that goes in my "over 5 stars" category. It's just too good for 5 stars in my opinion! If you have yet to read this book - get on it! Bump it to the top of your to be read list, or get it on there if it's not already! You don't want to miss it! I liked it so much that I went out and bought a print copy, even after reading the ebook!

Happy Reading!

Born in small-town Ontario, Kathleen published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons.

She is a voracious reader and the farthest thing from a genre-snob, loving everything from High Fantasy to Chick Lit.

Kathleen currently resides in a quaint small town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.

*Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my review for "Ten Tiny Breaths" by K.A. Tucker! This is just a mini-review that let you know how much I enjoyed it. I didn't go into too much detail because you have the book description right above it. I actually read this book a long time ago and finally am just now posting my review. Crazy right? There's a lot more where that came from. I'm pretty behind on reviews =) Happy Reading & Writing everyone!
